Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal Thursday chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss the modalities for improving the ranking of the district on the Good Governance Index.
Officers who attended the meeting included PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; SE PWD(R&B), Nissar Hussain; GM DIC, Ashwini Sharma; DSHO, Dr SarfrazNaseemChowdhary; CMO, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar; DSEO, Sandeep Sharma; CAHO, Dr Fazal Hussain; CAO, Sohan Singh; MS GMC, Dr Mehmood and other concerned officers.
The Good Governance Index is a uniform tool to assess the status of Governance and the impact of various interventions of the Government in the larger public interest.
Detailed deliberations were held on the sector-wise performance including Agriculture and Allied Sectors, Industries & Commerce, Human Resource Development, Public Health, Public Infrastructure & Utilities, Economic Governance, Social Welfare & Development, Judicial & Public Security, Environment and Citizen-Centric Governance under Good Governance Index.
While addressing the officers in the meeting, the DDC asked for a prompt, smooth and hassle-free public service delivery mechanism in the district. He also asked for effective measures for improving the good governance index ranking of the district.
The departments were also asked to ensure that necessary benefits under different schemes and programmes percolate down to the last beneficiary of the district.
The DDC also asked the concerned to achieve the physical and financial targets within the set timelines to provide necessary benefits to the general public.
