Advisor Bhatnagar assesses developmental issues of Gurez Sub-division

Srinagar: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev RaiBhatnagar Thursday held a detailed assessment of the demands and issues raised by the General Public of Gurez subdivision during his recent visit to the area, in a meeting at Civil Secretariat here.
The meeting was attended by HoDs of various departments like Health, School Education, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Rural Development, Chief Engineer R&B, Kashmir, Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Kashmir, Director Colleges J&K, MD J&K Power Development Corporation, representatives of Tourism and other allied departments.
During the meeting, the Advisor held indepth evaluation of issues and concerns raised by the public of Gurez subdivision during a public outreach programme held recently by the Advisor there.
Speaking during the meeting, Advisor Bhatnagar stressed upon the officers that special focus should be put on Gurez as the place remains cutoff for maximum period during the winter months. He delved upon the officers to conduct regular field visits to the area so that maximum connect is maintained with the locals there and their issues are resolved on continuous basis.
While assessing the issues related to Health department, Advisor Bhatnagar asked the Director Health Services to post Gynaecologist in the Sub-District hospital on immediate basis. He further asked the director health to install the blood storage unit as well as blood bank in the SDH immediately so that better health care facilities are provided to public.
The Advisor also asked the director to post the technical staff for management of USG machines and other equipments immediately.
While assessing the issues related to education sector, Advisor Bhatnagar impressed upon the director school education to rationalise the staff on urgent basis so that required number of teachers are posted in schools. He also asked the director to complete all the pending works on the Auditorium of Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Dawar so that the students take the required benefits out of it.
The Advisor further asked the director to conduct exposure tours for students of Gurez so that they get better exposure.
While reviewing Animal and Sheep Husbandry sectors, Advisor Bhatnagar directed the concerned officers that in view of the migration period for grazing of cattle, special camps for vaccination of animals should be organised besides required medicines should be provided to the public.
While evaluating the issues related to R&B, PDD and Jal Shakti departments, Advisor Bhatnagar exhorted upon the concerned officers that all the works being executed in the Gurez Sub-division by their respective wings are completed on time. He asked the Chief Engineer R&B to deploy modern snow equipments in the Gurez valley for timely clearance of snow.
Regarding the power sector, Advisor Bhatnagar asked the MD JKPDC to study the feasibility for installing power distribution line from Kishenganga power project to Gurez valley. He further asked the MD to look out the provisions for installing solar power plants in the area so that better power supply is provided to the inhabitants there.
