Hybrid militant held in Baramulla, militant module of LeT busted in Budgam: Police

B’la: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a hybrid militant of LeT militant outfit in Baramulla and also busted a militant module of the same militant outfit by arresting 3 militant associates in Budgam. Police also said that incriminating materials, arms & ammunition have been recovered from the said militant associates.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police said that in Baramulla a joint checkpoint was established near Juhama crossing by Police and 52RR, at about 1600hrs after receiving specific information regards movement of militants and upon checking movement of a suspicious person was noticed who tried to flee from the spot but the alert joint party apprehended him tactfully. Stating that the said suspect was dentified as Shahid Ahmad Parray son of Gh Ahmad Parray resident of Kathpora Hajin after which during his personal search, incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 pistol, 01 pistol magazine, 07 pistol rounds and 02 hand grenades were recovered from his possession, police in it’s statement further said “ preliminary investigation revealed that the accused was working as a hybrid militant linked with LeT militant outfits and was in an attempt to carry out militant activities in Baramulla Town and adjacent areas”.
Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 107/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Baramulla and further investigation is in progress.
Police in it’s statement further said that police in Budgam alongwith 53RR and 181Bn CRPF busted a militant module of LeT militant outfit by arresting 3 militant associates identified as Ashiq Hussain Hajam son of Ghulam Mohd Hajam, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, both residents of ZuhamaChadoora and Tahir Bin Ahmed son of Ghulam Ahmed Hajam resident of BadiporaChadoora.
“ The preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested trio was involved in facilitating transportation of militants, arms/explosive materials & providing logistic support to the active militants of LeT militant outfit in district Budgam” reads the above referred police statement , adding that “incriminating material, arms & ammunition including 01 Chinese Pistol, 02 Pistol magazines, 22 Pistol rounds, 01 AK magazine, 30 AK rounds have been recovered from their possession. Besides, 01 motorcycle (TVS Red colour) used in militancy related crimes bearing registration number JK01N-8067 has also been seized”.
Police further said that a case vide FIR No. 114/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation is on in progress.
