Auction of trees held at Cricket Stadium Haqani abad Punzwa, Kupwara

Kupwara: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, a team of officers headed by Assistant Commissioner, Panchayats Monday conducted auction of trees at Cricket Stadium HaqaniabadPunzwa in Vilgam tehsil of Kupwara district.
The Block Development Chairperson Vilgam, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, BDO Ramhall, NaibTehsildarVilgam, interested bidders and people of the village were present at the occasion.
The auction concluded successfully at an amount of Rs.8.17 lakh.
The Government has already earmarked Rs.1.49 crore for the development of the stadium, spread over 60 kanals of land in the area. However, there was an impediment with regard to the auction of trees, which was cleared by intervention of the District Administration, Monday.
The People of the area, especially youth have expressed their satisfaction for clearing the impediment and hoped that the Stadium will be ready within the shortest possible time.
The Stadium will provide a platform for youth in channelizing their talent in a better and prospect way.
