Srinagar: Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned over rupees 1.52 crore as Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of such martyred/deceased Police personnel.
According to a police statement, Police Headquarter has through an order sanctioned Special Welfare Relief of Rs 22 lakh in favour of dependents/legal heirs of slain SgCt Safiullah Qadri who died in a militant attack.
The above referred statement also said that special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased ASI Mohammad Hussain, HC Javid Ahmad SgCts Amina Akhtar, Darbesh Kumar, and Follower Ghulam Qadir, Stating therein further that Special welfare relief of Rs20 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of SgCt Mohammad Roshan and Follower Pawan Kumar. The deceased personnel passed away due to illness/ natural death while in service.
Rupees one lakh each has already been paid to NoKs of these deceased police personnel for performing last rites through their concerned units. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of Contributory Police Welfare Funds.
Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of slain police personnel, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
