Annual Amaranth Yatra via Baltal axis: Coordination/ preparatory meeting held at Baltal

G’bal: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir Saturday chaired a coordination cum preparatory meeting regarding Annual Amarnath Yatra-2022 at Base Camp Baltal.
During the meeting thorough discussion was held regarding the arrangements being put in place and necessary instructions were given to the departments for further fine tuning the arrangements for smooth conduct of the yatra.
The Camp Directors and security agencies deployed along the route also raised several issues pertaining to electricity, water, sanitation for which the DC gave necessary instructions to the concerned departments to resolve the issues raised at an earliest.
For better coordination and real time sharing of information, it was decided that the Joint Civil Police Control Room (JCPCR) will be established at Baltal Base Camp which will also work as an Emergency Operation Centre in which representatives of all line departments including police and security forces will work in coordination.
SDM Kand was asked to identify the dedicated space for parking of e-cars which will Ply from Baltal Base Camp to Domail besides charging point facility shall be provided at the same place.
While interacting with the officers, the DC sought coordination and synchronization among all the stakeholders associated with the management/ smooth conduct of Yatra.
He impressed upon the departments to ensure foolproof arrangements for power and water supply, medical facilities, sanitation facilities, parking, lodging and langar facilities, traffic and security arrangements etc. throughout the yatra.
The DC gave necessary instructions regarding proper signage, deployment of sufficient staff for sanitation, appropriate number of washrooms, dustbins, public utilities to ensure the base camp and other sites are made comfortable, clean and hygienic for the pilgrims.
The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Nikhil Borkar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmad Baba, SDM Kangan, CEO SDA, Camp Directors, Additional Camp Directors, CMO, Executive Engineers of various wings, besides other district officers and officials from Shrine Board and security agencies.
