B’gam: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Budgam, Dr AkramullahTak Thursday chaired a public interaction programme at High School, Panchayat Halqa Yarikhah in Block Khansahab.
At the outset, various PRIs, village elders and others respected from Yarikhah, Soznipora, Kharpora, Chekqudos, Dabipora, Shenipora and other adjoining villages of Block Khansahab raised their issues and demands with the ADDC and demanded timely resolution.
The issues and demands raised by the locals included development of roads, development of link and interior roads, restoration of various irrigation canals, retro fitting of pipeline supplying potable water, filtration plant for Yarikhah, health centre, veterinary centre, staff deployment in school, education zone, school buildings for primary schools functioning from rented accommodations, J&K Bank Branch and construction of new panchayat building.
They also demanded release of Rs. 12 lac as compensation to the snow hit orchardists, facilities of Horticulture and Agriculture centres, timber depot, upgradation of schools, improvement in HT, LT lines and health facilities, playground, tap water supply to all households and construction of various other roads.
The ADDC called for the holistic development of the area and emphasized that work on all ongoing projects be expedited to ensure timely completion.
He stressed on development of road connectivity and all hassle- free irrigation and potable water supply be ensured to locals.
The ADDC instructed concerned to conduct a joint awareness camp to apprise locals about various government schemes and initiatives in the area.
Later, the ADDC also inspected the irrigation canal and directed concerned to ensure prompt restoration of the canal for adequate water supply to the farmers.
He also emphasized on cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in the area.
The ADDC informed that various works under JJM have been approved to ensure improvement in the tap water supply to all the habitations in the area and added that under JJM, projects worth Rs. 1240 crore shall be executed to provide tap water supply across the district.
He instructed Panchayat members to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in all panchayathalqas of the block and urged PRIs to ensure that people ensure a ban on use of one-time plastic items and dumping of garbage roadside and in open areas.
He said that instead they use separate dustbins for proper disposal of garbage generated daily by the households.
Among others, SDM Khansahab, Tehsildar, BMO, BDO, Executive Engineers from various Engineering Wings, district heads of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and other concerned officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
