DC Kupwara chairs DLTFC for Mission Youth

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir Thursday chaired a meeting of District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) for Mission Youth scheme.
The meeting was convened to review the progress and discuss implementation of various Mission Youth schemes including Mumkin, Tejaswani, the Radiant, Parvaaz, Sahyta, Dental Clinics, Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiative, Rise Together Community Entrepreneurship and Homestays.
The meeting discussed threadbare various issues for successful implementation of various schemes envisaged for providing gainful self-employment avenues to the unemployed educated youth under different categories.
Addressing the meeting, the DC stressed upon all stakeholders to redouble their efforts for timely disposal of cases as the Mission Youth is directly linked with the future of the youth. He urged the concerned officers to honestly dispose-off the cases so that the highly qualified unemployed youth are encouraged to opt for self-employment ventures.
He directed all concerned officers to provide online services to those who have still been doing their business offline.
The DC urged the unemployed youth of Kupwara district to register themselves on the website www.jakemp.nic.in for their benefit.
Earlier, the committee approved 69 cases under the MUMKIN scheme and 37 cases approved under TEJASWINI subject to the fulfillment of formalities.
The committee discussed the Mumkin scheme 2nd which the Government rolled out recently with the inclusion of Passenger vehicles. The ARTO informed the committee that inclusion of E-Rickshaws under the Mumkin 2nd needs to be studied further before allowing them to ply in the district.
The Career Counselling Officer/Nodal Officer Mission Youth Kupwara, Nizam Wani gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation (PPT) regarding the Mission Youth Schemes being implemented by Mission Youth with detailed guidelines and procedures under each scheme.
The meeting also informed that under SPURRING Initiative Entrepreneurship, there is a target of 150 cases to be settled during the year. While as, 203 Candidates applied under the scheme and 57 cases have been sponsored to banks.
Addressing the meeting, the DC urged the officers to give utmost attention to create success stories as one success story can lead hundreds of youth to the right direction. He asked concerned officers to ensure that all 149 identified women beneficiaries under TEJASWINI SCHEME will be provided necessary training under EDP by July so that they get eligible to set up their income generating units under the Scheme.
He also stressed for encouraging Dentists to apply under Dental Scheme, for which he directed for holding a separate meeting with CMO Kupwara.
The DC asked Executive Engineer Tourism to submit DPRs under the Homestay programme.
The Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed and all members of the Committee attended the meeting.
