DC G’bal inaugurates water Skiing course in Manasbal Lake

G’bal: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir Wednesday inaugurated water skiing course/water Sports in Manasbal Lake which is being organized by the WullarManasbal Development Authority (WMDA) in collaboration with Indian Institute of Skiing & Mountaineering (IISM) here at Manasbal.
Students from IISM and Local unemployed youths residing around Manasbal Lake participated in the training course which shall continue till 4 July 2022.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the water Skiing training course/water sports event is aimed to generate awareness about the sports potential of Manasbal Lake besides, promoting watersports and tourism in the area.
He urged the local youth to register themselves with the IISM for such courses which is the best platform for them to showcase their talents.
CEO Manasbal Development Authority, G.M Bhat said that such events would be conducted in future also with the IISM and other Sports Departments to boost the tourist foot fall in the area for the upliftment of the socio-economic condition in the adjoining areas.
