Samba: Mission Director Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), InduKanwalChib Tuesday visited Samba and Bishnah block to take stock of implementations of UMEED scheme and its achievements.
The event was attended by DDC Chairman KeshavDutt Sharma, DDC Member, BDC Chairman and other PRIs besides other officials.
The Mission Director interacted with members of Self-Help Groups and assessed their activities and enquired about the changes brought in their lives after joining these groups of JKRLM.
Addressing the members, the MD emphasised on promoting the sustainable livelihoods of the SHG members and the factors that constrain or enhance livelihood opportunities.
DDC Chairman Samba and other PRIs assured support to SHGs for further expansion at panchayat, block and district levels.
On the occasion the District Programme Manager Samba/Bishnah informed the chair about the achievements of Mission in the respective Blocks.
It was informed that the SHG members have invested in different livelihood ventures like poultry farming, tailoring and sewing units, dairy units, food processing units, handicrafts and livestock besides others.
