Illegal mining, Samba Administration imposes Rs 20 lakh penalty

Samba: Tightening the noose against illegal mining in district samba, the multi departmental team under supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, Tuesday conducted raids at stone crusher sites, illegal dump sites, laid Nakkas and imposed heavy penalties to the tune of 20 lakh on violators.
During the raids multi departmental team led by Sub Divisional Magistrate VijaypurVinay Sharma, District Mineral officer Mohd Sayeed, SHO Vijaypur Rajeev Kumar, besides other departmental field staff conducted the surprise inspection.
Giving details on the raid, DMO informed that illegal minor minerals from a stone crusher were seized to which heavy penalty was imposed. “Another illegal dump at Patti was also seized on spot for flouting the mining norms while multiple dumpers were seized for illegal mining” added DMO.
District Mineral Officer also appealed to public of area to refrain from illegal mining activities as such activities will bring strict penal actions under law.
