DC Kupwara interacts with youth icons for awareness of electoral registration

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir who is also District Election Officer Tuesday had an interactive meeting with nominated youth icons of Kupwara district for awareness among the people regarding enrollment under electoral process.
Dy. District Election Officer, Shabir Ahmad was also present at the occasion.
On the occasion, the DC interacted with the youth icons which include renowned singers and a minor girl athlete from Kupwara district and asked them to become ambassadors for awareness among youth regarding registration in electoral lists adding that the message of these artists will resonate well with the youth.
The DC said that the participation of youth in the electoral process is imperative for choosing good leaders in nation building adding that various benefits under Government schemes are also linked with the voter list for which the youth are to be encouraged to get timely registered under the electoral process.
Later, the DC felicitated the artists with shawls.
Among others who were present include famous singers Noor Mohammad and Waqar Khan.
