Kathua: On the eve of the World Blood Donor Day, District Red Cross Society (IRCS) Kathua, in collaboration with Blood Transfusion Department, Government Medical College Kathua, organised a Blood Donation Camp which was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Rahul Pandey who is also the Chairman of DIRCS, Kathua.
DDC Member Nagri, Sandeep Majotra, Principal GMC Kathua Anjali Nadir Bhat and other officers were also present on the occasion.
Over 60 units of blood were donated during the camp in which volunteers from different age groups participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people to donate blood and informed that it doesn’t cause any deficiency in the donor. The DC said that Blood donation by volunteers on regular basis helps in maintaining availability of different blood groups in the blood bank which in turn helps save lives at times of medical emergency.
