G’bal: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, Khurshid Ahmad Shah Tuesday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for International Day against Drug Abuse and illicit trafficking which is being observed on 26 June.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held regarding the programmes to be held to spread awareness against the menace of drug abuse among the masses.
After discussion, it was decided that various seminars, symposiums and workshops will be conducted in coordination with NGOs involving PRIs about ill effects of drug abuse and trafficking. Besides, rallies, painting completions will be organized to spread awareness throughout the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC said that the programmes will be instrumental in sensitizing all the stakeholders for making vigorous efforts to ensure that the district remains free from the scourge of drugs.
He sought cooperation from all the concerned departments and said that the programmes being organized on International Day against Drug abuse shall act as catalyst to make Ganderbal a drug free district.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, DSWO, DYSO, District Nodal Officer Ayush, Dy. CEO, president, She Hope NGO, and representatives of other concerned departments.
