Srinagar: Body of a missing 12-year-old boy was found in the forests of Uri Tehsil in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said on Monday.
A police officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the boy identified as Shahid Ahmad son of Abdul Jabbar Ganai of Boniyar was missing since last Sunday after he had taken his cattle for grazing to a nearby forest area.
After having searched for him all over the area, his family lodged a complaint at the local police station, he said, adding that an FIR was immediately filed and searches were carried out by multiple police teams.
“However, the body of the child was found by the police today, and he apparently has been killed by an animal,” he added
