Elimination of Child Labour Week: DLSA B’pora conducts awareness camp

B’pora: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora in coordination with Tehsil Legal Services Committees Bandipora, Sumbal and in collaboration with Education Department Bandipora Monday conducted Legal Awareness on “Elimination of Child Labour” at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School SumbalSonawari, here.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Mohammad Ibrahim Wani (Pr. District & Session Judge) Bandipora and under the supervision of FariqaNazir Secretary/ Sub-Judge DLSA Bandipora.
Advocate AbidHussainMalla and Advocate Irshad Ahmad Dar were the Resource persons who delivered speeches on the occasion regarding elimination of child labour.
Resource persons addressing the audience said that the main intent of this year’s ‘World Day against Child Labour’ will be celebrated with a “Week of Action against Child Labour”. Throughout this special week, events and activities around the world will provide an opportunity to showcase progress on the elimination of child labour.
They said the significance of the World Day against Child Labour is to pay attention to the problem of child labour and to find ways to eradicate it. The day is meant to spread awareness about the harmful mental and physical problems faced by children forced into child labour, all over the world, they added.
The programme was attended by Teaching/ Non-Teaching staff of the institution, officials of TLSC Sumbal, PLVs and other participants.
