Jammu: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, AvnyLavasa Monday chaired a meeting to review the formulation of District Employment Plan and District Sports Plan at DC Office complex.
CPO YoginderKatoch, Deputy Director Employment Jammu, Dr ManishaKoul; DYSSO Jammu Sukhdev Sharma, CEO Jammu Suraj Singh, State Head NYK, Nisar Ahmad, representative of J&K Sports Council and Sports authority of India(SAI) were present in the meeting.
Regarding formulation of District Employment Plan, Deputy Commissioner directed all the concerned officers to work in tandem and all departments to synergise to bring effective outcome regarding increasing employability.
The Chair directed for identifying the priority sectors where employment could be available and the skill gap shall be bridged to reduce unemployment.
The DC directed for effective and result oriented awareness should be made regarding self-employment schemes available in the J&K through various Government departments.
She also asked to encourage new start-ups and innovative ideas from the youth and provide all possible counselling and hand holding for budding entrepreneurs.
While reviewing formulation of District Sports Plan, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officers to make a plan regarding sports activities which can be organised throughout the year.
She also directed to create awareness regarding the sports activities and encourage maximum number of players especially drop out students/ players for their participation.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the CEO to inculcate sports culture in schools to encourage the students for their participation in sports events.
