612 UDID Cards, Disability Certificates issued in Karnah

Distt Admin issues schedule for holding camps in border areas

Kupwara: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, Chief Medical Officer Kupwara organized special camps in far off and hilly areas of Karnah subdivision of Kupwara district for issuance of disability certificates.
The camps were held at Sub District Hospital Tangdar and Primary Health Centre, Teetwal under the supervision of concerned Block Medical Officer. As many as 612 Unique Disability Identity cards, also known as UDID cards and Disability Certificates, have been issued among the beneficiaries.
Deputy Commissioner has appreciated the efforts of CMO and its field team for making best efforts to facilitate specially-abled persons with required certificates to enable them to get financial assistance under various social welfare schemes.
He said District Administration is committed to provide every possible support to specially-abled persons adding that these specially-abled persons are part of our society and it is the prime and moral duty of every stakeholder to support them.
Khalid Jahangir said a special drive has been launched in the district for enrolling and issuance of UDID Cards and Disability Certificates.
During the drive two camps were held on 7th and 8th June in Karnah sub division. While as, as per schedule such camps shall be held on June 14 at Health & Wellness Centre Kundain, on June 15 at PHC Keran, June 21 at PHC Dudi, on June 22 at Sub Centre Chontiwari, on June 28 at PHC Qalamabad, on June 29 at CHC Langate, on July 5 at CHC Zachaldara, on July 6 at PHC Vilgam and on July 12 at SDH Sogam.
