Transport Comr reviews progress on affixation of HSRP

Jammu: Transport Commissioner, J&K, Bhupinder Kumar Thursday reviewed the progress regarding affixation of mandatory High Security Registration Plates (HSRP).
It was informed in the meeting that on the instructions of the Transport Commissioner, challaning of vehicles without HSRP is going on unabated and consequently a good number of vehicle owners are approaching the authorities for fixation of HSRP. However, it was observed that still a sizeable number of vehicles are without HSRP and number of chances was given to them through various public notices by the Department, for fixation of the same.
The Motor Vehicle Department has also issued Public Notice on 6th June, 2022 drawing the attention of the vehicle owners, whose vehicles have not been affixed with the HSRP, to get their vehicles affixed with HSRP failing which the defaulting vehicles would be seized by the authorities from 15th June, 2022 and the onus will lie on the owners. It was also informed in the meeting that a large number of HSRP plates are ready and lying with the vendor and telephonic calls have also been made to the owners to affix the same in their vehicles.
It was also informed that the Motor Vehicle Department is in regular touch with other law enforcement agencies like Jammu and Kashmir Police and Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police, who are also ensuring the implementation of the said scheme.
Transport Commissioner asked the officers of the Department to raise the awareness among the general masses to get their vehicles affixed with the HSRP to avoid stern action in the coming days. Among others present in the meeting were Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, Joint Transport Commissioner, Representative of NIC and representatives of M/s Real Mazon were also present in the meeting.
