DC B’pora chairs Public Outreach Prog at Hajin

B’pora: To get first hand appraisal of the issues faced by the public, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr.Owais Ahmed Thursday listened to public issues during an outreach programme held at Hajin Block of the district.
On the occasion, PRIs and the general public of the area projected several demands and problems related to electricity, roads, macadamization, water supply and irrigation besides other issues of public importance.
The demand for development of Public Park at Hajin by the floriculture department was also raised by the public.
After listening to the demands and issues, the DC passed on spot directions for redressal of several grievances and assured timely redressal of the other genuine grievances.
Dr.Owais appreciated the people’s participation in the programme and urged the public to come forward and work as a team for the development of the area. He said redressing public issues is of utmost priority for administration.
Later, the DC chaired a meeting of officers to review the progress of various developmental works.
He directed the concerned to take up the tendering process and other related processes early, for timely completion of developmental projects.
He also directed the officers to take up developmental works in coordination with PRIs keeping in view community benefits.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Joint Director Planning, SDM Sumbal, Chairman MC Hajin, BDCs, PRIs and general public participated in the programme.
