Jammu: A massive plantation dive was Wednesday organised by Salal Power Station at Jyotipuram in which about 70 plants, including fruit trees like AmarpaliAam, Guava, Neem, Adu, Nimbu, ALU Bukhara, kinnuetc and Medicinal plants like Medicinal plant, Hing, Dalchini, Kapoor etc plants were planted by the employees of Salal Power Station.
The program was organized to mark the celebration of “World Environment Day” under AzadiKa Amrit Mahotsav.
From 5th June to 9th June a massive plantation drive was carried out at various power stations/projects/units etc. of NHPC located all over the country.
On this occasion, Head of Salal Power Station, J. C. Sarkar describing trees and plants as life givers, appealed to everyone to protect them. He said that there was no other alternative to trees and plants on earth, so “We all have to ensure the path of human progress by saving them.” He called upon the personnel to adopt the “Apna Tree” policy under which planting one plant and taking proper care of it as your plant.
General Manager (E&C) of Power Station, Satyavan, General Manager (Electrical), Dinesh Kumar and other senior officers and employees were also present on the occasion.
