Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Wednesday inaugurated Sidhra-Surinsar road executed by J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA).
The Lt Governor said that the Rs 16.70 Crore road project, executed by J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency (J&K ERA), is very vital as it provides road connectivity to various pilgrimages, tourist locations in and around the Jammu District.
The vital project will facilitate the socio-economic development of areas including Bajalta, ChakChilah, Badgah, Aithem and Surinsar, benefitting around five lakh population.
The road will also give a fillip to the tourism sector in Jammu division as it completes the pilgrimage/tourist circuit from Purmandal, Mansar, Devakand connecting with Vaishno Devi Shrine and Sudhmahadev in Reasi and Udhampur districts.
Pertinently, a day before in Srinagar, the Lt Governor had dedicated nine other World Bank funded projects worth Rs 137.35 crores to the public giving a major push to the infrastructure and disaster management capabilities across J&K.
Member of Parliament Jammu-Poonch, Sh Jugal Kishore Sharma; Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Sh Chander Mohan Gupta; Former Legislator, Sh Devender Singh Rana; Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sh Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ms Avny Lavasa, besides PRI members and senior officers were present on the occasion.
