222774 Kanal State Land, 5883 KanalKachari land retrieved till date

Rajouri: To review the functioning of the Revenue Department and to ensure efficient and prompt public services delivery, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Revenue officers in the conference Hall of PWD Dakbanglow.
The meeting was attended by ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ADC Sunderbani, VinodBehnal; ADC Kalakote, KrishanLal; ADC Kotranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal, SDM Thanamandi, VikasDhar, ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria, and all the Tehsildars.
The meeting held threadbare deliberations on the Revenue related matters including removal of encroachments on Kahcharai and State Land, writing and digitization of Jamabandies, progress under SVAMITVA, redressal of grievances, disposal of court cases, check on illegal Conversion of Land and encroachment alongside the major Road Projects.
A detailed account of different Revenue related matters was presented by the officials. It informed that a total 222774 kanal state land has been retrieved so far and the eviction process is going on to retrieve the rest from illegal possession in different tehsils.
Similarly, 5883 kanalKahcharai land has been retrieved by conducting a series of anti-encroachment drives by the Revenue teams across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of the retrieval of the Roshini land. The meeting was informed that Jamabandies of all 384 villages have been updated by the concerned Tehsildars and inspections are being carried out to ascertain the quality of the same.
The meeting was also given the latest update about the status of redressal of online/offline grievances and disposal of Court cases.
The DC said updation of Revenue record was the core work of Revenue department and a basic requirement of every household for which coordinated teamwork is key to achieve set targets in a time bound manner.
He asked the Tehsildars to further improve the public service delivery system at their respective Tehsil Offices and monitor each chunk of land in their jurisdiction. He also asked them to activate the field staff to keep close check and vigil on any kind of encroachments. Likewise, he also made it clear that no laxity shall be tolerated in connection with illegal conversion of the land.
“The Government is liberal towards conversion of land, but this illegal conversion has led to loss to the exchequer” he added. He directed the Revenue Officers to keep close vigil on this issue.
He further directed the Revenue Officers to monitor the progress of all major connectivity projects including Upgradation of NH144A and RajouriThanamandi Road and directed Tehsildars to ensure that all illegal structures alongside the roads be demolished at the earliest.
The DC further directed them to launch a massive anti-encroachment drive in all Tehsils of the district to retrieve the State/ Kahcharai land.
