Anantnag|: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr PiyushSingla today reviewed the progress with regard to registration of service providers for the ensuing Amarnath Yatra 2022.
It was informed that the service providers being registered include Ponywallas, Pithoowallas, Palkiwallas as well as the equines that will be utilized for transportation along the route to the Holy Cave.
The Asst. Labour Commissioner apprised the chair that more than 4300 service providers have been registered. He said that registrations are being carried out at various spots in the district and in other districts also.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Anantnag informed that more than 2500 equines have been registered so far. He shared details regarding the health checkup of ponies as well as the progress regarding insurance of ponies. The ponies are being insured to protect the owner against loss of earnings and mitigate capital losses.
Dr Singla said that the process must be expedited and directed the concerned officials to ensure all registrations are completed by 15th of June. He stressed that more teams be deployed on ground and all those who have not been registered till now must be registered.
He further said that the registration process must be closed prior to the commencement of the Yatra and service providers must be informed that no registrations will be done during the Yatra.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning M Ashraf Mir, CAHO Anantnag Dr Nisar Ahmad and Asstt. Labour Commissioner, Peer Zameer Ahmad.
