Srinagar: A massive fire broke out in JVC colony Bemina in Srinagar on Saturday evening, destroying four double-story residential houses.
According to reports, the fire engulfed a second-story residential house and spread to nearby houses.
As per locals, fire erupted in the residential house. Scores of people thronged the scene to douse the flames and were also joined by the fire and emergency men.
They said in the incident, that property worth lakhs of rupees had been gutted into ashes. After the hectic efforts of firemen and locals, the fire was brought under control and prevented further spread.
An official of the fire and emergency department said following the fire incident, the firemen rushed to the scene and doused the flames.
The office said after the hectic efforts, the fire was brought under control, adding that in the blaze, several structures were completely damaged.
