Kishtwar| : To harness the adventure potential and revive tourism sector in the District, Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA) Friday launched adventure and sports activities here at Chowgan Grounds.
The event was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Ashok Sharma, in presence of CEO, KDA InderJeet Parihar, ACR Varunjeet Singh Charak, Tehsildar Pramood Kumar, staff of KDA besides local residents here at Chowgan ground Kishtwar.
In the event, Zorbing ball adventure was introduced on the first day and other activities including sky jumper trumpholine, paragliding etc shall be introduced in coming days.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC appreciated KDA for introducing the novel adventurous activities. “Kishtwar Township and other areas of have great potential for paragliding which needs to be exploited for attracting the Tourists,” the DC said.
Besides, he asked to explore the virgin tourism destinations of Kishtwar District which have huge potential to attract adventure tourists.
He also added that these activities can act as catalyst to revive tourism and revive the local economy.
“In 21st century, the tourists are looking for new experiences and Kishtwar will be one of those places that will give them the real experience that they are looking for” the DC hoped.
Local residents, including participants, lauded the step taken by the administration hoping that it will boost the summer tourism in Kishtwar which is famous for historical Chowgan ground and other tourist places.
