Weekly Block Diwas: DDC B’pora listens to public grievances at Konan

B’pora: To reach out to the common people in the rural areas of the district and to address their grievances, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) BandiporaDr.Owais Ahmed on Wednesday attended Block Diwas at Konan Bandipora.
The DC was accompanied by District Development Council Member Arin, ACD Bandipora, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad and other senior officers from District Administration.
The programme also witnessed meeting of Panisamitee of Konan Panchayat.
Technicians from District Water Testing laboratory demonstrated awarenessregarding pure drinking water and various problems due to contaminated water.
On the occasion,question-answer session regarding various issues related to contaminated water was also held. Students also performed a shortskiton water, its importance, its conservation, ill effects of contaminated water and role of panchayats in providing clean and portable water.
Throwing light on World Milk day, Block Veterinary Officer Bandipora M Ramzan said, Bandipora is presently having surplus production of milk due tosanctioning of 72 dairy farmslast year.
Speaking on the occasion, BDO ArinShariq Iqbal said during last year 07 works have been completed in konanpanchayatagainst an estimated cost of 23 lakhs.
He said under PMAY 15 cases has been submitted out of which 12 cases have been sanctioned including 08 from konan and 04 from Gundikaisar. He also said 06 works under 14th FC at an estimatedcost of 13 lakh were also completed during last year.
He informed that NREGA plan vetted by panchayats has been submitted and works on the submitted estimation will start shortly.
On the occasion Public delegations raised various issues related to education, school accommodation, and road macadamization of KunanVundiKaisar road, PMAY cases, electricity, irrigation, solid waste management and health besides other issues of public importance.
DDC Arin also raised various issues of public importanceand sought intervention of District Administration for their redressal.
The DC gave patient hearing to all issues put forth and took on spot decisions for speedy redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said every panchayat has been allocated 23 lakhs to be utilizedas per the demand and requirements of locals.
He said under District Capex 75 works are planned for Arin block including works from Konan panchayat. He assured macadamization of inner links of Konan on priority.
He said this year Rapid sand filtration plant under JJM will alsobe set up.
Dr.Owais urged people to restrict Single use Plastic for sustainable development and clean environment.
He urged people to cooperate with district administration andactively participatein Gram sabhas.
During his visit to Konan, the DC also visited the playground at Konan. He took feedback from public for further development of playground toenhancethe facilities for local youth.
On the occasion, the local people expressed their gratitude to the District Administrationfor holding Block Diwas at Konan. They also thanked Dr.Owais Ahmed for fulfilling their long-pending demands and giving on spot directions for redressal of various grievances.
