DC listens to people’s issues at various places in far flung block Bounjwah, redressed many grievances on spot

Kishtwar : To reach out to the common people in the rural areas of the district to address their grievances, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of remote and hilly areasand presided over the block diwas/Public Grievance Redressal Camp at TipriPashalla and Devigool area of Block Bounjwah under weekly Block Diwas programme.
DDC Councillor Bounjwah, AmienaBanoo; Assistant Commissioner Development KishtwarAtulDutt Sharma; TehsildarBounjwahIrshad Ahmed Butt; Block Development Officer Sobia Fatima; DYSSO KharatiLal Sharma; ZEO Drbshalla besides Engineers of development departments were present at the Public Grievance Redressal Camps.
The PRI representatives, Public delegations and scores of individuals from the adjoining Panchayats projected their issues and demands which were mainly related to the up-gradation of local infrastructure, road connectivity, health, Education, water and power supply besides promotion of tourism sector.
After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present at the Grievance Redressal Camp.
He also assured the people of the Block that all their genuine demands and issues would be taken up with concerned authorities on priority.
The DC Kishtwar also urged the PRIs to share the list of un-electrifiedhabitations of their areas, if any, so that the same shall be covered under relevant schemes.
Besides, the DC also apprised the locals about the Water Supply Schemes taken under JalJeevan Mission in the area and said that each house will be provided tap water facility in a time-bound manner under the Mission.
While informing the people about different schemes and services, he urged upon the people to come forward and avail the benefit of these schemes.
On the occasion, the local people expressed their gratitude to the District Administration Kishtwar for holding Block Diwas in the far-flung areas.
Later, the DC Kishtwar along with other officers visited GHSS Binoon and reviewed the functioning of the school. He checked the attendance register, inquired about the staff position and interacted with students.
Responding to the issue of shortage of lecturers in the school, he assured to take up the matter with the Education Department for filling the vacant posts.
En-route, the DC Kishtwar also inspected execution work on Power Grid station at Jwalapur.
Expressing displeasure over delay in execution of work, the DC Kishtwar directed the concerned department to start the work immediatelyand take strict action against the defaulting contractors.
Meanwhile, the absence of some of the district officers in the block diwas programme was viewed seriously and they were asked by DC to explain their position before action was initiated against them.
Similar Block Diwas programme was convened at Village Khawara ofPanchayatChingam B in block Inderwal, under the supervision of SDM ChatrooInderjeetParihar.
TehsildarChatrooSuman Sharma, BDO InderwalTasleemJavaid Wani, Officials from different Departments and PRIs also attended the programme.
Dozens of grievances of residents of Khawara were redressed on the spot. The SDM Chatroo along with BDO Inderwal also inspected Govt Middle School Pahalgowara.
Officials of different Departments also acquainted the locals about Government Schemes.
Likewise, Block Diwas programme was also held at Panchayat Jar of Block Paddar under the supervision of SDM Dr Rishi Kumar.
BDC Chairman Paddar, Arpan Singh Rana and TehsildarAtholiRohit Kumar & other Officers/Officials and PRIs also attended the programme.
A number of grievances of local residents were redressed on the spot. The SDM, DC Chairperson along with Tehsildar, and ZEO Paddar also inspected Govt Schools.
