Drug peddler held in Budgam, contraband substance recovered: Police
B’gam : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a notorious drug peddler in Budgam and also recovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police said that police Station Magam received specific information through reliable sources about one Abdul Rashid Parray son of Abdul Ahad Parray resident of Naidpora Bon Makhama having indulged in drug peddling and hoarding a huge quantity of narcotic substances in his residential house.
Stating further that on receipt of this information, a Police party of PS Magam raided the specific location and upon checking, officers recovered 25Kgs of Poppy straw from his residential house, stating therein further that the accused has been arrested and shifted to PS where he remains in custody.
Police in its statement further said that case vide FIR No. 74/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
