Doda : District Development Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma Saturday discussed the modalities for implementation of Amrit Sarovar Mission in the district with the members of District Level Committee, here in a meeting of the concerned officers.
The meeting was attended by SE Hydraulics, ACR Doda, and CPO Doda, ACD Doda, Ex En REW, and representatives of the Forest department.
Pertinently, Amrit Sarovar Mission is aimed at developing and rejuvenating water bodies in each district of the country as a part of the celebration of ‘AzadiKaAmrutMahotsav.’
While underlining the objective of the Mission, ACD Doda, who is also the Member Secretary of the DLC, apprised that initiative has been taken with the aim to conserve water sources. He also said that under the mission, feasible water ponds of the district would be rejuvenated and designated as Amrit Sarovars.
The DDC directed the ACD to submit the details of ponds which have been rejuvenated/created in the last two years along with the details of ponds going to be revived/ created during the current financial year. ACR was asked to submit the details of water bodies as per the revenue record vis a vis their current status as on date.
While discussing the water bodies under Forest department and soil conservation department, the DDC directed the Range officers to submit the list of water bodies/ponds under their control along with the geo-coordinates photographs, their existing status including work done on them in the recent times and action plan. Besides, DDC also asked ACD to coordinate with concerned departments for actual data consolidation.
The DDC also directed the ACD to complete the updation of entries on designated portal by 1st June and also passed on direction to ensure that no water body (existing/ new), wherever feasible is left out under the ambit of Amrit Sarovar, besides Ex En REW was asked to complete the DPR for all the identified water bodies by June 3.
The ACD was directed to nominate Panchayat level officers and concerned Sarpanch as Pratinidhi for each identified waterbodies. Further, Ex Ens were directed to allocate the identified water bodies to the JEs/AEs so that under fix timeline the DPRs shall be prepared. ACD was also asked to take up the matter regarding coverage under Forest area.
