AHD Jammu imparts training to Para-vets for safe Brucellosis Vaccination

Jammu : Animal Husbandry Department Jammu organises a training prog for Para-vets on Standard Operating Procedures to be adopted for safe and efficacious vaccination against Brucellosis disease in Cattle and Buffalo.
On the directions of Directorate of Animal Husbandry Jammu, Publicity Wing of the department organised a Training Programme for Para-vets of Jammu district in the office complex of Chief Animal Husbandry officer here at Belicharana.
During the event the Extension Officer delivered a lecture on SOPs to be adopted while vaccinating cattle in field conditions. He laid stress on the zoonotic significance of the disease and cautioned the concerned staff about the serious health hazards posed by careless and hasty vaccination practices. He further advised the participants to follow all the SOPs in true letter and spirit accordingly.
While mentioning the correct way of administration of vaccine into livestock, he laid emphasis on the needless wastage of vaccine and advised the gathering to prepare that much dose only which they shall be able to utilise immediately. As only female calves in the age group 4-8 months of both cattle and buffalo are to be vaccinated, he impressed upon the concerned to undertake a proper survey of target population in their respective areas prior to the commencement of the vaccination drive so as to avoid vaccine wastages.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Jammu informed that all the necessary inputs for conducting safe vaccine drive against Brucellosis viz. Aprons, Masks, Gloves, Protective goggles, disinfectants, sanitizers etc have already been supplied to the concerned staff along the length and breadth of Jammu district. He remarked that it shall be the responsibility of the local officers and staff to maintain proper cold chain throughout the process of vaccination and also to carry out proper disposal of used syringes, needles, gloves etc strictly as per the SOPs in vogue in this regard.
The Para-vet staff present appreciated the initiative of the department and thanked the officers for providing them much needed training prior to the commencement of the all-important vaccine programme against Brucellosis disease.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Jammu, DrAltaf Ali, Extension Officer, Publicity Wing, DrNadeem Ahmed, Livestock Development Officer Jammu, Dr ZahidSaleem, Disease Investigation Officer Jammu, DrSher Singh, Veterinary Assistant Surgeons besides large no. of Para vets were present during the training programme.
Power shutdown in Jammu parts

Jammu : Chief Engineer (Distribution) JPDCL Jammu has informed that the power supply to Gandhi Nagar, DudhaDhariMandir, Nanak Nagar and adjoining areas shall remain affected on May 27 from 7 am to 10 am.
Similarly, the power supply to Sheetli, part of Sidhra, bamyal, MES Nagrota, PHE Sheetli, Lalyana, Salehar, Sarore, Miran Sahib, Biaspur, MES, Sainik Colony, Part of Ratnuchak, Biaspur, Kotli, Kalyana, PuranaPind, GhoManhasa, Marh, Gajansoo and adjoining areas shall remain affected on May 27 from 7 am to 11 am.
