Police organizes workshop on Juvenile Care and Protection Act-2015 in G’bal

G’bal : Police in Ganderbal in collaboration with Juvenile Justice Board Ganderbal organized a one day workshop on sensitization/orientation about the implementation of juvenile care and protection. The workshop was organized at Conference Hall DPL Ganderbal in which investigating officers were briefed about the sensitivity of juvenile cases and their orientation.
According to a police statement issued on Wednesday the workshop was chaired by CJM Ganderbal Umi Kulsum (Principal Magistrate Juvenile Justice Board Ganderbal) and attended by DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Ghulam Hassan, DySP (DAR) Muzaffar Jan, Inspector Syed Sajad Hussain I/C Special Police Juvenile Unit Ganderbal and other investigating officers of Police Ganderbal to discuss various issues pertaining to Juvenile Care and Protection.
With the onset of workshop, APP Iftikhar Hussain, LCPO Miss Sameena Anjum, Member Juvenile Justice Board Ganderbal Shri Ghulam Rasool and Incharge CWC Zulafkhar Khan were the speakers and they highlighted various issues of the Juvenile Justice, Care and Protection Act-2015. Besides, special emphasis was laid on the Rights of Juvenile, Investigation procedures, Role of Special Juvenile Police officer, Role of Chid protection Police officers, Role of Juvenile Justice Board, Role of Child Welfare Committee etc.
On the occasion, all the participating officers were thoroughly briefed to overlook the Juvenile related crimes sensitively and the juveniles who are involved in any criminal activities may be provided proper guidance and counselling.
