Srinagar : Director General Jammu & Kashmir Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 56 lakh as a Special Welfare Relief under different orders of PHQ. He has also sanctioned over rupees 2.50 lakh Welfare relief in favour of retired Police personnel.
According to a police statement issued on Wednesday the special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased police personnel HC Mohammad Muzafar Bhat and SgCt. Mohammad Yousf, who expired during service due to health-related issues. Out of this amount rupees one lakh each was already paid to the families/NoKs of police personnel for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units/Districts. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
Under another order, Special Welfare Relief of rupees six lack has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/ legal heirs of deceased SPO Satvir Singh and rupees two lakh fifty thousand has been sanctioned in favour of legal heirs of deceased SPO Ashwani Kumar who expired due to illness during the course of their engagement with the department. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Contributory Welfare fund of SPOs.
DGP also sanctioned over Rs 2.50 lakh in favour of retired/NoKs of deceased police personnel. The special relief amount ranging between rupees 4000 to 35000 has been sanctioned in favour of 24 retired/NoKs of deceased police personnel. Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of slain police personnel, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
