Handwara: Police on Monday said that policealong with civil authorities destroyed poppy cultivation spread over vast area of land in different areas of Langate.
In a statement issued on Monday police said that a joint team of Police along with officials of Excise Department and Executive Magistrate Langate destroyed illegal poppy cultivation spread over vast area of land in different areas of Langate.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed to people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
