B’la: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr Syed SehrishAsgar Monday chaired a meeting of JalShakthi Department to review the progress/ achievements of cent percent coverage of pure drinking water to households and Panchayats across the district under JalJeevan Mission.
At the outset, Superintending Engineer Jal Shakti Department Mohammad Haneef gave a detailed presentation of Jal Shakti Department and highlighted the major achievements registered in the district so far with regard to providing drinking water to households and Panchayats under Centrally Sponsored flagship programme JalJeevan Mission.
The meeting discussed threadbare discussion on several aspects of implementation of JalJeevan Mission. The DDC directed all officers of JSD to ensure that quality parameters in works should be strictly adhered to in letter and spirit.
The meeting was informed that 238 schemes shall be implemented at a cost of Rs. 820 crores under JJM project across the district including Pattan, Baramulla,Rafiabad, Sopore, Tangmarg and Uri.
Elucidating further, the meetingwas informed that 109 retrofitting and 129 new schemes were introduced in the district which include 19 production walls and 02 overhead tanks.
On the occasion, Dr Syed SehrishAsgar exhorted upon the officers to work in tandem to achieve desired results within the stipulated time frame besides asked them to achieve the complete targets under the Mission as soon as possible.
Asserting that JJM is a major flagship programme to cover all households, the DDC directed all the officers to work in coordination and ensure smooth execution of JJM works in their areas.
Joint Director Planning M Yosuf Rather, Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
