Rajouri: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal Monday handed over a sewing machine to a specially-abled girl, Birta Devi Swari daughter of Balwan Singh of Koteranka block.
It is pertinent to mention here that Birta Devi is a twenty years old girl and is suffering from a locomotor disability. She knows how to sew clothes but being poor, she was unable to purchase a sewing machine, so she applied for the same in the DC office.
The DC said that the District Administration is committed to provide the specially-abled persons the right kind of atmosphere to develop their talent so that they become self-reliant.
Referring to a number of welfare initiatives launched by the government, he appealed to all the specially-abled persons to come forward and avail themselves of the benefits of these initiatives.
