BGSBU Rajouri holds one week faculty dev prog on emerging trends in teaching, learing, Research

Rajouri: One week Faculty Development Program on Emerging trends in Teaching, Learning and Research, was on Monday organised by the Centre for Hospitality and Tourism, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri began.
Prof. Akbar Masood said that changes in demography, technologies, labour markets, information and scientific and social-cultural structures have triggered an unavoidable change in educational trends across the globe. Prof. Akbar said that teaching and learning will not be the same as it is today and preparing for tomorrow is the only solution. Prof. Akbar said that the objective of this program is honing the teaching and research skills of faculty members working in various Universities and Colleges. Prof. Akbar Congratulated the Centre for Hospitality and Tourism for organising the FDP and hoped that this would help the participants to explore, discuss and deliberate on the emerging trends in teaching, learning and research.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Iqbal Parwez said that The major focus of the FDP is on upgrading the teaching, training, and research skills of the teachers with recent developments and advancements. Prof. Iqbal said that this FDP will provide us with an opportunity to discuss and deliberate on future challenges for teachers, particularly in higher education and the way forward.
Prof. Prashant Gautam, Punjab University, Chandigarh, delivered the inaugural address. In his address, Prof. Gautam highlighted that quality in teaching and research is an endless journey as new demands arise in the education industry. He added that teaching-learning standards in research undergo continuous improvement, and thus, there is a dire need for effective teaching as per global standards.
Dr Danish Iqbal Raina, Deputy Director Centre for Hospitality and Tourism in his welcome address said that the faculty development programme aims at explaining the influence of educational technologies in directing the future trends of education and to discuss the role of learners, teachers and classrooms of the future. Those present on the occasion included Dr Parwez Abdullah, Dr Kafeel Ahmed, Dr Jatinder Kumar, Dr Vinay Kumar and Dr Shahnawaz Chowdhury.130 participants from different institutions across the country Ave registered for the week-long FDP.
