DDC Council reviews functioning of RDD

Anantnag : The District Development Council (DDC) Anantnag Saturday reviewed the functioning of the Rural Development Department.
During the meeting, an overall review of the development works being undertaken under 14th Finance Commission Grants, Swachh Bharat Mission, MGNREGA and District CAPEX was held.
ACD Anantnag apprised the council about the works being undertaken under different heads. He said that plans have been formulated in all 335 panchayats in the district and estimation is going on in all blocks. He further said that the department is also organizing regular IEC activities to strengthen participative democracy.
The Council emphasized that works that have been accorded approval under various development plans should be taken up for execution. They further emphasized that works being undertaken under 14th Finance Commission should be expedited.
The meeting was attended by DDC and BDC Members, ACD, ACP, DPO, BDOs and other officials of the Rural Development Department.
