Srinagar : The Under-19 women cricket tournament being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) continued on Friday with players performing very well in either regions.
As per the official reports, several teams are participating in this tournament, while four matches are being played everyday.
As per the Member Administration, JKCA, Brig. Anil Gupta, “four matches are being played in a day, out of which two matches are being played in Jammu, and two in Kashmir respectively.”
In a video statement, Brig. Gupta said that girls from several areas like; Bandipora, Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Kishtwar, & Reasi came to participate in this tournament.
He further said that two best teams, one from Jammu, and one from Kashmir, will be playing final on 23rd of May.
Surabi Dadheechi, Chairperson senior women’s selection committe said that the girls, who were not able to come for trials, are now able to identify plus points with the help of professional coaches.
She said that they “have less exposure to lot of things as they belong to remotest areas, but will go back with sign of pride, as they come to know what they need to work on.”
In Kashmir, one of the female cricketers named Afreen Malik, managed to score century on Friday, after playing a great knock in JKCA’s ground.
Soon after her century, she said that she wanted it, and she did it, adding that coaches always supported and encouraged her.
