4 arrested for Illegal extraction & transportation of minerals 3 vehicles & a JCB seized in Budgam: Police

B’gam : Police on Friday said that it has arrested four persons and also seized 3 vehicles and a JCB involved in the commission of crime in Budgam.
According to a police statement, police parties from Police Station Budgam at various checkpoints established in their jurisdiction intercepted 3 tippers loaded with illegally extracted clay Near FCI Chandpora, Patlibagh & Chandpora Crossing respectively. The trippers bearing registration Nos JK04-7552, JK01P-3573 and JK01AG-7743 were seized and drivers identified as Younis Ahmad Qazi son of Ghulam Ahmad Qazi resident of Watriwani, Showkat Ahmad Baba son of Ghulam Hassan Baba resident of Khadipora and Gulzar Ahmad Beigh son of Abdul RazzakBeigh resident of Khadipora were arrested.
Stating further that officers from Police Station Beerwah seized a JCB and arrested a driver for illegally extraction of soil at Hardumalpora Beerwah and identified him as Balvinder Singh son of Kulwant Singh resident of Jungal Bawani Gurdaspur Punjab, Police in its statement further said that cases under relevant sections of law stands registered at respective police stations and investigation have been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and urged residents of the area to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
