Anantnag : In a joint initiative, the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), UMEED in collaboration with Department of Skill development, J&K Friday kick started training programme for up-skilling of members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) of UMEED.
The inauguration ceremony of the training programme was held Friday simultaneously at ITI Seer Hamadan Anantnag where Chairperson, DDC Anantnag, Mohammad YousufGorsi inaugurated the skill development programme and at ITI AshajiporaAnantnag where DDC Member Achabal, SameenaHussain inaugurated the programme.
This will be a twelve days training programme and will cover 269 SHG Members across Anantnag district in four trades, which include Sewing technology 103 candidates, Fashion Designing and technology 75, Hand Embroidery 52 and Dress Making 39.
The main objective of the skill development programme is to assist the rural Women SHG members to augment their skills and improve their livelihoods opportunities.
District programme Manager, JKRLM Anantnag, Sheikh KifayatUllah gave on the occasion highlighted the importance of such programmes in ameliorating the socio–economic conditions of rural SHG women and improving their household incomes.
Block Programme Managers, Block Farm and Non-farm Coordinators and MIS Assistants of JKRLM district Anantnag were present on this occasion.
