Ramban : Jammu and Kashmir, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Ramban, in collaboration with Skill Development Department on Thursday started a 12-day training course for Self Help Group (SHG) members here at ITI Gool and ITI Banihal.
As many 36 women members are participating in the skill up-gradation training in which the participants will be trained in sewing technology.
The programme was inaugurated by the BDC Chairperson Shakeela Begum and the DDC Members Gool, Saki Mohamed, in presence of District Nodal Officer, NRLM Ramban, Manzoor Ahmed Rather and superintendent ITI, Gool, Parvaiz Ahmed. The event was also graced by the locals and members of SHGs.
District Nodal Officer, NRLM said that JKNRLM was working with full zeal in all designated blocks of the district. The aim of the mission was to provide livelihood opportunities to every rural women of J&K. He further said that the mission has trained many women in different skills to enable them to become self-reliant.
He said the Mission also plans to organise similar training programs inother trades, like carpet making, Food Processing, Hospitality, Driving, Agriculture and its allied activities, Beautician and in many more areas to enable the poor rural women to be financially independent.
