Excise Deptt destroys illicit poppy crop spread over 205 kanals 15 marals

Srinagar : On the directions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and Excise Commissioner J&K Government and under close supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Kashmir, Tahir Ajaz, the Excise Enforcement teams headed by Excise & Taxation Officers, South, North and Central Excise Ranges has destroyed illicit poppy crop spread over 205 kanals 15 marals.
The district-wise details of Poppy destroyed (in kanals) up to 16 May, 2022 include 59.16 in Anantnag, 61.01 Pulwama, 17.15 Kulgam, 09.09 Baramulla, 02.03 Kupwara, 02.00 Srinagar, 50.04 Budgam and 03.07 Ganderbal.
Meanwhile, it was given out that the eradication drive shall continue till all illicit poppy crops in Kashmir valley are destroyed.
