Srinagar : On the eve of ‘International Museum day’ being celebrated throughout the World Wednesday on the theme ‘Power of Museums’, the Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums (AA&M) Wednesday started weeklong event in the form of special exhibitions and seminars at SPS Museum, Lal-Mandi, Srinagar and Art Gallery Museum, Old Secretariat Stone Building, Srinagar.
The special exhibition and seminar was inaugurated by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole at SPS Museum Dal Mandi, Srinagar.
A special exhibition of the fossils housed in SPS Museum, Srinagar were kept on display in SPS Museum, Srinagar and Mughal paintings have been displayed at the Art Gallery Museum at Old Secretariat Stone Building, Srinagar.
The weeklong event will be celebrated at above mentioned places which will be entry free and various Schools/ Colleges were invited to attend the event. The main objective of the event is to raise awareness among the school students, college students and general masses about our glorious past and rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
