DC Srinagar holds Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Koolipora Shahr e Khaas

Srinagar : Continuing the endeavours to listen to the grievances of people at their doorsteps and to ensure on spot resolution of their developmental issues, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday held a Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Koolipora area of Shahar e Khaas in Khanyar Tehsil of the district as part of Public Outreach Programme.
The Public Outreach programme witnessed large participation of people from Koolipora, Nowpora, Badamwari, Rainawari, SaidaKadal, Hassan Abad, BrariNambal, Babademb and other adjoining areas of the Khanyar Tehsil of Srinagar district.
Among others the Public Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by General Manager DIC, Deputy Director Employment, Chief Planning Officer, Sub Divisional Magistrate, East, TehsildarKhanyar, District Social Welfare Officer, Executive Engineer, PHE, Lead Bank Manager and other Zonal and Sectoral Officers of the district.
During the Grievance Redressal Camp, besides representatives from furniture Market Barbarshah, BeoparMandal, MaharajGunj, Shia Association Hassan Abad, Sikh SahityaSabha, Intizamiya Committee, KhoujYarbalSaidaKadal, Coordination Committee Khanyar Tehsil and other Public delegations and individuals projected various developmental issues before the DC including augmentation of drainage and sewerage network in the area, repairs of lanes and drains, widening and macadamization of roads, establishment of Fire Station at MaharajGunj, development of BrariNambal, regular cleanliness around GurudwaraChattipadshi and ZiyaratDastageer Sahib and other issues.
After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the Deputy Commissioner sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp.
The DC also assured the people of Tehsil Khanyar that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be looked into on priority for their speedy redressal.
He also gave on the spot directions to the concerned officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said the District Administration has initiated a process of holding such camps in City areas including Shahr e Khaas to reach to the doorstep of the people instead of them visiting the DC office or other Government Offices.
Lauding the unique artistic talent of Craft/Copper work Artisans of Shahr e Khaas, the DC said that hand made products of Srinagar have made their footprints globally and it is imperative to preserve the centuries-old traditional art and culture. He said the Administration is formulating a comprehensive plan to ensure sustainable livelihood to Artisans of traditional crafts in Srinagar.
On the occasion, people of the area thanked the DC Srinagar for conducting first ever Block Diwas at Koolipora area in Shehr e Khaas and bringing Administration at the doorsteps of the people for early redressal of their grievances and issues.
During the Camp, the Deputy Director Employment, Mohammad RoufRehman highlighted the initiatives and youth-oriented welfare programmes of the District Employment & Career Counselling Centre, Srinagar. He emphasised upon the participating youth to get enrolled/engaged in different incentivized self-employment schemes. He also threw light upon the objectives and benefits of different employment schemes and stressed upon youth to take advantage of these livelihood generation schemes to become self-reliant and provide employment to others.
