DC Samba discusses measures to prevent stubble burning

Samba : Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta Wednesday convened a meeting of district officers regarding measures taken to prevent stubble burning of wheat crop.
Chief Agriculture Officer Sanjay Kumar Verma and Deputy Director Fire Services Raj Kumar Raina among other officers were present at the meeting.
The meeting held detailed deliberations on the issue of stubble burning in the district and the Deputy Commissioner directed to constitute a joint team of Agriculture Department and fire Services Department for holding farmers awareness camps in the Blocks/ Panchayats. The DC emphasized that it is necessary to inform people regarding the stubble burning hazards and encourage scientific ways for its disposal.
The officers also discussed measures to protect forests and nearby fields of farmers from fire incidents due to rise in temperature. Control rooms have also been established in the district for meeting any exigency on war footing, the meeting was informed.
