B’gam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Wednesday chaired a public darbar at High School Choon in Block Budgam.
The DDC Member Budgam, Abdul Ahad Dar was also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the DC directed ARTO Budgam that both cab and minibus transport service on Budgam- Choon route shall be permitted to ensure better public transport facility to locals.
Stressing on better connectivity, the DC instructed concerned to pick up macadamization and road construction works of all main and inner roads of Choon and other adjoining villages on priority.
He directed that Irrigation works on all irrigation canals including, gam kul and naavkul be started at the earliest and instructed concerned to ensure all projects under the NABARD are approved for early execution.
The Tehsildar Budgam was also given instruction to ensure identification of land for the development of sports ground facility for the local youth.
He said that various JalJeevan Mission (JJM) works have been approved for the area to ensure better and adequatetap water supply to all local habitations.
At the outset various PRIs, village elders and other respected from Choon and other adjoining villages raised issues and demands with the DC and demanded timely resolution.
The issues and demands includes creation ofChoon block as Sub- Division, separate PDD feeder, road macadamization, filtration plant, Agriculture and Horticulture units, Borewell, up-gradation of schools to next level, improvement in HT, LT lines and health facilities, macadamization and construction of various other roads.
The DC assured that all genuine demands shall be taken up with the relevant quarters for prompt resolution. He instructed CEO to ensure deployment of vacant teaching staff at local High School in a week’s time.
The DC further instructed Panchayat members to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in Choonpanchayathalqa and urged PRIs to ensure complete ban on use of one time plastic items and dumping of roadside garbage in open areas. He said that instead ensure, publicuse separate dustbins for proper disposal of garbage generated daily by the households.
Among others, CEO, CMO, Executive Engineers from various Engineering Wings, Tehsildar, district heads of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, BDO, DMO, BMO, SHO and other concerned officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
Later, DC inspected various Water supply Schemes (WSS) including 0.4 MGD filtration plant at Parthan to take first-hand hand appraisal of ongoing work process.
He instructed the concerned to ensure work on the project is carried out in double shift and is completed in a month’s time without any fail to ensure purest portable water supply to the Budgam Town.
He also inspected work progress on spring water-lifting scheme at Choon and directed that work on the project be expedited and completed at the earliest.
The DC accompanied by concerned officers also visited the under-construction PHE building at Choon and inspected the work progress.
He also inspected the functioning of Walnut processing unit facility and interacted with local farmers.
