Block Diwas held at Qazigund, Hiller & Khoveripora

Anantnag :Block Diwas was held at Qazigund, Hiller and Khoveripora blocks in Anantnag Wednesday.
The event saw heavy participation of people who put forth several issues including water supply, electricity, and road connectivity, construction of bridges, ration, healthcare, education and irrigation.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr PiyushSingla inspected several development works in Qazigund and Vessu Blocks including office of Municipal Committee Qazigund which is being constructed by R&B at a cost of Rs 2.1 crores. Similarly, flood protection works at Vessu Bridge were inspected by the DDC.
The DC inspected several CSC toilets constructed on highway sides for public convenience and exhorted the officers from RDD to ensure proper maintenance of these assets.
Talking to public delegations who met the DC for resolution of their grievances, the DC assured them that their grievances will be taken up with concerned departments and resolved in a time bound manner.
Block Diwas was held Wednesday at K Pora MattanAnantnag, where ADDC Anantnag heard the demands and grievances of public in presence of BDC Chairman Block K Pora and other concerned.
The ADDC assured the delegations that their genuine grievance would be solved in a time-bound manner and stressed upon the concerned officers to coordinate with the PRIs and general public, besides speed up the construction of all the ongoing works and complete them within the stipulated time frame.
On the occasion, the ADDC asked the PRIs, public and officers to work in coordination so that best is delivered on ground.He asked the public to participate in all the block diwas programmes and raise their genuine issues. He applauded the efforts of various officers for ensuring their presence onthis day for better understanding of public issues.
BDC Chairman K Pora on the occasion thanked the public for their participation in the Block Diwasand registering their grievances.
Among others Officials from several other departments including Revenue, Health, RDD FCS&CA, Jal Shakti, R&B remained present in the block diwas.
Block Diwas also held at panchayatgharChangoo in Block Hiller where SDM Dooru presided over the event and gave a patient hearing to various demands put forth by several delegations.
Speaking on the occasion, the SDM assured the delegations that their issues will be taken up for resolution. He exhorted the officers present to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are covered under various public welfare schemes being run by the government. He also stressed on timely issuance of various category certificates as is envisaged under PSGA.
Officials from various line departments were present and attended to the grievances pertaining to their departments.
