Arrangements for Guru Tegh Bahadur Jayanti, Budha AmarnathYatra 2022 reviewed in Poonch

Poonch : District Development Commissioner Poonch, InderJeet on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the 400th Birth Anniversary of Guru Tegh BahadurJi and the Budha AmarnathYatra 2022.
The meeting was attended by SSP Rohit Baskotra, SDMs of Surankote and Mendhar, religious heads, besides the concerned district officers.
Members of civil society and religious heads informed the Deputy Commissioner about the requirement for upcoming festivals.
The arrangements for BudhaAmarnathJiYatra were discussed in detail including security arrangements, toilet arrangements, lodging, langer facilities, drinking water, power supply, accommodation, medicare, fire emergency, PA System, Medical Camp, Control room, traffic arrangements etc.
The meeting was informed that the first batch of yatris will arrive at Buddha Amarnath on July 29 and the yatra wouldculminate on August 9, 2022 with the departure of ‘Chari Mubarakh’ from DashnamiAkhara Poonch.
Regarding the celebration of 400th Birth Anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the meeting discussed provision for parking of vehicles, security arrangement, Ambulance, uninterrupted supply of water, power and other facilities, besides traffic diversion, shifting of vehicles from bus stand to another place during the Nagar Kirtan/Smagam so that pilgrims do not face any problem.
The DDC directed Xen PHE to arrange sufficient drinking water supply along with water tankers round the clock at langer sites whereas PDD was directed to arrange power supply.
The CMO was asked to organise medical camps during the yatra and also arrange an ambulance.
SSP Poonch assured that adequate arrangements would be made for security of pilgrims and regulation of traffic during Yatra. He also called upon all departments to maintain close coordination with Yatra control room for providing timely services to the Yatris.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the officer to make sure that their staff performs the duty diligently for smooth conduct of affairs during the festivals.
The DC directed to ensure a foolproof arrangement for the upcoming Mahan Nagar Kirtan on May 22.
The DDC stressed for close coordination among all concerned departments and stakeholders for smooth and successful conduct of both festivals.
