Police destroy poppy cultivation in Sopore

Sopore:Police on Tuesday said that it has destroyed poppy cultivation at the Seelo area of Sopore.
According to a police statement, a police party from Police Station Sopore along with officials of Excise Department and concerned Executive Magistrate destroyed poppy cultivation spread over vast area of land at the Seelo area of Sopore.
Police in its statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 98/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
